Indonesia: Local police chief files Rp 10-billion civil defamation suit against Indonesian media advocate

'A provincial police chief in Indonesia recently filed a Rp 10-billion civil defamation suit against media activist Jupriadi Upi Asmaradhana on top of the criminal defamation charges earlier lodged against him. The Alliance of Independent Journalist (AJI) Indonesia deplored this latest lawsuit against Jupriadi, describing the action of Police Inspector General Sisno Adiwinoto as an intimidation against the press.'
